i posted a while back about a big trend i’ve seen around lately — decorating with one minimal, but very large painting. well the trend doesn’t seem to limit itself to paintings because large format photographs seem to be all the rage, as well. i love the look — a big artistic statement creating an interesting, almost gallery-like focal point to the room. some of these are just sublime! to get the look, try out online galleries like 20 x 200, the tappan collective, ugallery, and mammoth & co. — just to name a few.

I was just thinking about the use of large scale images in a home, and how beautiful it can be.
I was over on Domain Home and spotted this bedroom and loved the use of a one strong photograph.
I love all these images you collected here, the home office with the black and white Audrey Hepburn photograph is beautiful!

these images are really beautiful. i love the idea of having a large format print above my bed. i’m not so skilled with the lovely collections so the gallery wall just isn’t for me (unless someone else styles it!!) but this is could handle…

I check your blog regularly, but specifically came today to get your email! I opened a print shop today (all photography prints geared at gallery walls and , of course, one large baby!) what are the odds? I’ll be emailing you shortly.

So right on time with this post. I’m just looking for some large prints for our entrey way. They really add so much to the space.

I really like this trend. I’ve seen some inexpensive, large, beautiful prints over at ikea as well!

  6. As a book lover I like very much the photos by kara rosenlund :-)

I love large prints myself! I like anything from simple and modern to quite artsy and interesting to look at.

  8. I like the idea of having a big piece of photography on the wall especially if its something very colourful and abstract! I remember seeing a cool interior (sweden…probably) and their whole back wall was a black and white photograph….so amazing looking!

  9. Love this style!

    Anyone printing their own photographs?
Can you recommend a great place that makes big prints? (Bay Area)

Your posts are just so amazingly inspiring! I’ve just moved into a new flat which is currently being redecorated. Next week, I can finally start getting organised and I can’t wait to look through your website and get inspiration for new furniture, new solutions and not least, what to hang on my walls. For the longest time I’ve been considering enlarging some of my own photographs to frame, and now it’s going to happen. Keep up the good work! PS: I would love to be working next to Audrey and to live with the beautiful prairie print and all the books.

I love this idea! It looks so clean and bright/airy. So glad Glitter Guide led me to this post and your site!

Couldn’t agree more – large scale photography really makes a statement! I love the print in the Mikael Creative shots (: PurePhoto also provides high quality, large format photography (and many smaller sizes, for those a little less bold!). Whether you’re a designer like Nate Berkus or Kendall Wilkinson, or just someone who wants to add incredible art to their home, PurePhoto can help you find it.

Love this blog! Thanks for the great post!
