an unexpected victorian in new york.

lonny magazine featured a fabulous home this month — a victorian makeover in upstate new york. the owners run roger + chris, a bright and bold homewares collection of Furniture, lighting, pottery, artwork, and accessories. and much like their collection, their home is both whimsical and dramatic — definitely statement making. there are rooms with dark gray walls, and black & white checked floors, and some with loads of kitschy, campy artwork. i love the unexpected choices they’ve made, like those bright blue chairs, and dozens of paint-by-numbers framing their kitchen doorway. and although you can see they are collectors of all kinds of oddities, their home looks completely uncluttered and lovely! for the entire home tour, visit lonny.

I use to enjoy watching Roger Hazard on “Sell This House”! It makes sense that he and his partner would have such a gorgeous home. I love the entrance!

  3. Such a brilliant mix of periods, styles, colors, and patterns! This place has got character!

  4. Oh my gosh – such a nice write-up! Roger and I had a lot of fun trying some new things with the house, but it’s hard to anticipate how people will react. Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

  5. You can tell this home has a lot of love in it, with all the unique and interesting items! All the colours used throughout are fantastic, I love how it goes from light and airy to dark and bold! It’s beautiful!
