I figured it out… they are called ax chairs by hvidt and molgaard. I don’t think they are in production anymore from what I’ve been able to find :(

Hi Victoria! I have been so impressed by the quality of pre-fab homes since it has been gaining popularity. I have found so many good resources from Dwell magazine (and I can forward you the names of a few if you like). The final cost is not as high as one would expect either. It would be great to find an empty lot that you could just build on using a pre-fab since they are so well designed and constructed that they are also fast to out up in the final location. Most importantly, it is amazing that the new kinds of pre-fab don’t look anything like a pre-fab…amazing. I hope your home search in LA is going well. Maybe you can use this option??!! I’m sure you have thought of this already? How fun!!
