i love these kitchen prints, and tea towels from etsy shop, the house of bouton. designed by portland-based designer cassie bouton, these kitchen accessories are happy, bright and add a great big smile while you’re cooking up a storm. and cassie’s used no solvents or spirits in her hand printed flour sack towels and prints. for more from cassie visit the house of bouton.

le petite flea launches.

4f

well, since i’m moving, and kind of going for a whole new look, it’s come time to pass along some of my vintage treasures. you must understand, it is not easy for me to part with some of these belongings. many have fond memories behind them, but i feel good about passing them along to good homes, like yours. so without further ado, i bring you sfgirlbybay’s new vintage etsy shop, le petite flea.

i’ll be adding more of my vintage finds to le petite flea, from trips to london and italy, and just across the bridge at the alameda flea market, as i go through my stash of collectibles and loosen my grip on the past. time to move on. time to purge and find new, old stuff! but you know what they say, one gal’s trash is another’s treasure. i hope you find something you like at le petite flea.

trampoline: etsy photos 101.

i just can’t get over the quality of images trampoline’s kim ludy posts to her vintage etsy shop. i thought this would prove a great tip to other etsy sellers — follow trampoline’s lead with well-styled, great looking photos, and i’ll bet your sales jump! just look at the beautiful images in trampoline’s shop, including these lovely spring shots of flower frogs and vintage baking molds. these shots make her products hard to resist! you can find more inspiration from kim in her flickr stream, too.

vintage finds for a modern world: etsy love.

2v
i love the rain. i really do. but i do hate when it washes out my flea market adventures. so, when in dire need (yes, it is a need!) for some unique vintage finds, i turn to etsy! plus, the items occasionally come wrapped beautifully, with ephemera in the form of sweet little thank you notes, tucked in with the packages. you don’t get that at the flea market! i thought i’d share some of my favorite, and most recent vintage shop discoveries on etsy.

new-mosiac

i also recently discovered new dominion blues, a wonderful vintage etsy shop, where i swooped up these lovely ball jelly jars. i’ve never seen vintage jars quite like this before!

i love ethanollie’s trampoline, where i found a beautiful pharmaceutical  mortar and pestle, and the sweet english ironstone planter to hatch some paperwhite bulbs for spring.

and, last but not in any way least, from jenny penny vintage i fell in love with these fun chemistry beakers. a set of three in various sizes look really great displayed with a simple single stem in each. thanks for helping out a girl in vintage need, etsy.

Lamp of the Party.

lamp1

i received an email from Susan Schneider of the etsy shop Shandell’s this weekend about her amazing new line of lamps. in my mind, i imagined perhaps these great lamps were inspired by the old adage of a rowdy guest wearing a lampshade at party.

these lamp bases are created from collectible vintage tin horns that were made in the USA around the turn of the 19th century. toot, toot, i love them! susan also creates a wonderful line of vintage-inspired lamp shades, so for more, visit the shandell’s etsy shop.
