hi! it’s meighan here, from my love for you. so excited to be here this week and share my inspiration. over the weekend i saw ‘black swan’, and i have to say when the movie ended i wasn’t sure how i felt. i knew i liked what i had seen, but i wasn’t blown away immediately. i had extremely high expectations going in, so right there it’s easy to be let down. but after the movie sunk in for a few hours i realized i could not stop thinking about it since i had left the theater. and i basically have been in that state since saturday. i’ve been devouring everything online about the film. it truly was gorgeous. natalie portman was incredible. the ballet costumes by rodarte were breathtaking. this week’s post is an ode to black swan. enjoy!

The stellar designers stay in our minds. The names, the signature style, the “it” look. I have had many designer crushes. These days though, after almost three years with Desire to Inspire, I have come to truly admire, to look up to and seek inspiration from my new main squeezes. I’m batting for the other team … the photographers. Edmund Sumner grew up with architects and designers. Edmund Sumner is a photographer, an extraordinary one. There is so much to devour on his website but I have decided to share just one home he has captured through his lens. It’s an artist’s residence in Japan. Simple perfection and simply perfect photos. Enjoy.

Each and every day, Kim and Jo over at Desire to Inspire, well, do just that! I find so much inspiration over there it hurts! I love all the beautiful rooms they find to share with us and sometimes it makes me want to redecorate all over again (which, you just know is inevitable!). Those girls are prolific, I tell ya and the fabulousness just keeps on comin’.

This week they have a great post, Flickr Finds – Saarinen, featuring rooms that have wonderful examples of the use of Saarinen designed pieces in some mighty great rooms (oh, and thanks for including my wee Saarinen in there girls – that was a nice surprise!).
