i’d like to at least pretend that warm summer days are soon upon us (those of us in san francisco know that june really means lots and lots of chilly fog). so i thought we’d hit the surf, or sit poolside in this sunny version of separated at birth. we can at least fantasize about getting that coppertone tan.

it was super glorious weather here in san francisco this weekend, so i went outside. a whole lot! thus, i’m back again this monday with a peek at sunday in the city. by the way, it’s usually only a metaphor, for just about any day i spend wandering around the city with my camera – i can’t possibly always fit this all in just one day! but i can try!

i came across some amazing diptych images from a flickr photographer, timfalle, and immediately chatted him up to find out if i might share! tim’s blog, suitcase confessions, features these super creative and quite fantastic photo compositions, which tim puts together from shots of his own eclectic collections, and their place in his interiors.

these images are of treasures and trinkets brought back from tim’s travels over the years, prompted by his rather wonderful habit of photographing everything that he’s unpacked from his journeys on his bed, before putting them away. his collection of images has expanded into his blog, to follow these items and to document their ultimate use and impact in his home. just brilliant.

okay, suffice it to say, it was hard to narrow down just what to share with you. i could get lost in tim’s suitcase confessions for days. i am hear to say, i do believe this man to be the epitome of good taste and design. i feel a definite ‘part deux’ coming on. thanks for allowing me to share, timfalle!

while my regular and lovely guest blogger mrs. french is out on an adventure this thursday, i stepped in over at bliss, and did a little guest blogging for her. i added my own blissful inspiration in the form of some favorite diptych photos i found on flickr. to see more of my photo finds, take a visit over to bliss today. we miss you mrs. french!

so i’ve had this kind of mutual admiration society going on with neville trickett of the fabulous south african-based blog, saint verde digest. neville just intrigues me, and i love just about everything he creates. make that, everything. i featured his family home on unexpected guests here, and some of his beautiful photo collections here. so recently, i was chatting via email with another wonderfully creative south african, heather moore of skinny laminx, and she suggested neville and i do some sort of artistic collaboration. brilliant, i thought! thank you, heather for a wonderful idea! so neville and i got together and exchanged some favorite photos and went to work on our own little photographic projects. i took some of his images, and combined them with mine. there may not seem to be much method to my madness, but i just loved the combination of two random images side by side, south africa meets san francisco. neville’s image appears on the right, and mine to the left of these a little bit crazy diptychs. i hope you enjoy these if perhaps just for a bit a visual eye candy and maybe some small inspiration. thanks neville! this was fun! for more brilliance from neville, visit saint verde digest.
