i used to post my flickr favs all the time, and then well, it was just one of those posts that fell by the wayside as new ideas took over. and sadly, flickr seems to be gathering a bit of dust these days, too. what do you think? did flickr miss the social media boat? are you having more fun with instagram, or are you still a loyal flickr follower? i’m torn. i still love and admire the work out there, but i myself have been a real slacker posting new pics.

i’ve been so busy with the move and decorating lately, i’ve barely had time for my other obsession, photography. and a big part of that is my flickr favorites. finding inspiration from the constant flow of talented photographers on flickr is a favorite pastime of mine. here’s my most recent set of favorites – a combination of urban realism, and fantastically, simple beauty. enjoy.

i think the rain affected my moon, because when i looked at my flickr favs, the set was definitely a bit on the moody-blue side. but i like them nonetheless – kind of graphic, and vintage looking, with a bit of dark humor in there, too. at least that’s what i find when looking at these images at a complete set. if you’d ever like to curate a set of your flickr faves for me, be sure and drop me a line – i love a fresh eye!

this week i thought i’d peruse my own flickr favorites with the wintery holiday in mind. the chill in the air certainly seems to be here, and we all just want to bundle up and be at home. here’s some lovely images I felt evoked that sense of changing seasons, colors and mood.  so snuggle up, and peruse some of these flickr photographer’s work. it might just warm your heart.

’tis ‘roid week‘ on flickr, so a lot of my flickr favorites this week are naturally polaroids! i actually took my first polaroid photo with my automatic 100 land camera yesterday after kindly receiving a lesson from leah on what the heck i was doing wrong. what fun — i am now an addict! this week i thought i’d peruse my own flickr favorites with the Halloween holiday in mind. autumn certainly seems to be here, and the darkness is arriving earlier and earlier. here’s a few images I felt evoked that sense of changing seasons, colors and mood. you know that feeling — you leave work and you feel this sense of urgency to rush home, get your comfiest jammies on and get something warm cooking. settling in and keeping cozy on a chilly night. happy Halloween everybody!
