yes! i want to live in dottie angel’s world! she is a diy genius {as is her real-life alter ego, tif fussell}, and i cannot imagine a cozier place to spend the holidays! her house, also known as “mossy shed”, is full of crocheted doilies, floral patterns, paper lanterns, and vintage bits and bobs as far as the eye can see!

oh so dreamy! well, if i can’t actually be at mossy shed for christmas, i can get the next best thing. an inside glimpse of the life of dottie angel through this lovely book – volume 2 in the suitcase series by uppercase gallery:

so pretty, yes?! and now, to send you off for the holidays in true dottie angel style. oh, and ps. i want this gorgeous fireplace. a lot.

Joy’s a stunner in bold colors, so it only made sense to bathe the guest of honor in a bright green dress with a fun pleated detail. Of course, a corsage is in order for all special occasions, and a Ban.do keeps the look from being too sophisticated. After all, babies are fun, yes?

Black tights and edgy wedge booties (for comfort!) will both elongate the legs (every pregnant gal’s dream, I’m imagining) and balance the bright hues. I love a good two-for-one! And, of course, neon-inspired bangles and a coral clutch add an extra special pop of color.

Congratulations, Joy dear! We can’t wait to meet your sweet little girl.

first, let me tell you that I just pulled the trigger to move into a loft with my boyfriend that has concrete walls, exposed pipes, the whole sha-bang. so, I have been on a bit of a loft research rampage lately trying to get decorating ideas. in my extensive searching, I came across this crazy space that looks similar to some sort of sci-fi movie that my boyfriend would make me watch. just check out those crazy yellow pod beds! while I wouldn’t personally want to live in this futuristic fort, it sure is cool to look at, right?!

As the Art Director of Rue Magazine, I clearly draw a lot of my inspiration from Domino. While scrolling through the archives on this rainy weekend, I came across this little bungalow in Silver Lake, California. Seeing that I have my own Silver Lake craftsman home, this space felt just right to chose this week!

I am a girl that has no fear with color when it comes to fashion, and although I might not chose to use an overabundance of it in my own home, I sure can respect someone that does. Coming up with a color palette and then deciding what patterns to integrate can be—well, a little daunting if you ask me. I really enjoyed this homeowners outlook on it however: “You simply have to ask yourself—what’s the worst thing that could happen if something doesn’t look good? Nothing.”

She couldn’t be more right. Take more color risks. Noted.

Salut, It’s Anna again from European Chic in Paris! In my last guest post on sfgirlbybay I promised to share more mid-century design from up north. I spent the last few days browsing my favourite Danish, Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian interior magazines for Scandinavian mid-century interior design and I found, well, nothing that appealed to me. So instead I picked more mid-century interiors from other parts of Europe that spoke to me. Enjoy!

This house is located in merry old England. The outside is pretty box-shaped but inside it is all fun and not boring at all (via Living etc.).

The sleek kitchen with rustic accessories on the open shelf. The green is a great color shade.

The living room feels modern with a great selection of mid-century furniture and the antique chair thrown in for contrast.

The spartan yet cozy bedroom and the hallway. I want that chair!

An airy dining room with my favourite Eero Saarinen tulip table (see also below) and the cool office space. Check out the lamp, isn’t great?

Last, but not least, I am taking you back to Paris. This chic flat can be found on Rue de Rennes in the 6th arrondissement, via Skona Hem Sweden.

Eero Saarinen’s Tulip table work perfectly in this interior. The collection of mid-century vases makes me envious.

A simple bedroom where the golden table lamps and the convex mirrors take center stage.

The glass sculpture compliments the vase collection.

So, let me tell you a little something about myself. I’m a makeup artist and aspiring hairstylist that writes a blog featuring all things beauty, design, home, and fashion related.  I like to profile people on the street with great hair and unique style, photographers, artist’s and musician’s, editorial photo shoots, and anything I find inspiring.

Today’s post is all about different work spaces, styling out your gadgets, and my new favorite 9 to 5 looks. So with that said, here we go!

I absolutely love vibrant punches of color in a work environment, like this office in Sweden designed by Ragnars. Color blocking in an ordinarily bland space adds so much depth and character.  I find it energizing and playful; keeping you on your toes when things need to get done. Plus, it’s just fun! The desk of MaeMae Paperie designer, Megan Gonzales, was recently featured in Rue Magazine. All the colorful clippings, photographs, and supplies are neatly displayed in her studio. I especially like her stamps in the airtight glass jar.

This navy blouse belted with the green skirt worn by blogger, Lucy Laucht, has got to be the cutest work combo! She has mastered the art of the belt. It adds an eclectic vintage twist to the modern office attire while her bright bobbles show off an imagination.  These iPad wallpapers by graphic designer, Simon Page, are some of the coolest I’ve seen. I’m obsessed with everything he does.

Simple, classic, and earthy. This uncluttered space is  great for the home office. Comfortable yet clean and minimal. The use of leather, wood, framed photographs and art, give a worn-in and natural warmth. This whole loft is a design lover’s wonderland.  The Delfin and Postigo residence in Madrid is really quite amazing.  You can check out the rest of their pad here, on Yatzer.

I’m currently coveting this gorgeous Tilt iPad case from Austrian label, Hard Graft. Made from 100% wool and vegetable tanned leather, this case rolls up for support and gives a cushioned feel while typing. So luxurious, I guarantee you’ll catch a few envious glances. It’s the perfect holiday gift for that person who has everything!

Harper’s Bazaar Senior Fashion Market Editor, Joanna Hillman, has a young sophistication that incorporates high fashion pieces with simple, timeless silhouettes. This is one of my favorite looks of hers from Citizen Couture.

Inspiration boards are such a great way to get your daily fix of the things that truly speak to you. The little reminders, artfully arranged in a unique collage. I’ve had many, and you’d be surprised how effective these boards are. Mine have manifested, encouraged creativity and brought ideas and wishes to life. I just love how personal and expressive the process is. These are just a few that I found really neat. Try it!

hello everyone, it’s meighan, from my love for you here! after shopping for new clothes for my very new job that starts this week i was inspired to post about images of impeccable and stunning women with amazing style. some of these looks are over the top (as in couture) and then others at the other end of the spectrum; understated and simple but that’s what is so great about blogging: a girl can dream and be inspired to create her own unique style. enjoy!

i mentioned a few posts ago what a fan i am of navy i am, i should also say i go ga-ga over sharp, well done, appropriated men’s wear. this chica, that the sartorialist grabbed in london, oh man. so stylish.

i saw this gorgeous thing on honestly…wtf. i love how crazy layered she is!

one of my blogger friends, danica of slow progress has posted a few times about a coworker of hers who has the best, laid back style. it’s very annie hall meets san francisco. layering is key here in the foggy city…usually anytime after four pm you’ll need a scarf no matter what month we’re in. love her look!

i have posted about this stunner before, but really…she needs as much attention as possible. i love that she is dripping in jewels and her whole look is understated. (from the sartorialist).

i stumbled on this picture via black lung and wishhhhh this sweater was available just so i could visit it and say hello and give it a little squeeze. but it looks like its a new designer just getting her feet, hopefully we’ll see more. the model wears it so well. see more here.

a great place i have found a ton of inspiration style wise lately is artist jeana sohn’s closet visits. gah. so many jewels, and eclectic looks. her latest visit with pietsie campbell really grabbed me. right up my alley. i love this pic, so understated and classy.

and lastly, this hunk of love from jenny vorwaller’s beautiful tumblr. the nails, the bag, the mix up of pearls and studs. oooph. slammin’.

today i was captured by the work of adrian briscoe. his vibrant color use and mood lighting sure is easy on the eyes. the way he captures each photo makes me want to curl up in those printed blankets wearing a pair of fuzzy socks and just gaze out at the rain. and i sure wouldn’t mind spending my time on that lime green themed tropical deck listening to david gray, day in and day out!
