i love everything little thing about this lovely paris shop neëst. the sweet logo, oui, but also all the delightful things neëst carries in their inventory of natural homewares and accessories. A passion for decoration, especially for a recent trend called « Natural style of life » is at the heart of neëst. This trend finds its inspiration in the new Japanese design which in turn was founded upon a strong Scandinavian influence. This « Natural style of life » is about enhancing everyday items by mixing vintage and contemporary objects. so pretty, no?

some decor is just so naturally gorgeous. it’s unfussy, calming and simple, yet, quite often still cozy. i like these rooms for their use of natural wood, an interesting and eclectic blend of shiny metallics and gold, and fluffy textiles and soft neutrals.

i keep seeing exposed, unpainted plywood and repurposed raw rough wood around the web these days, and i must say, i’m kinda partial to it. it’s economical for certain, but there’s something so natural and effortless i like about it, too. it’s not overly effortless, mind you and it’s not like someone just got lazy. it just looks so cool and organic, like this studio (above) belonging to emily wright, via the design files. here’s a look at some raw woodsy rooms i really quite like.

aside from designing interior + small goods, i have a soft spot for anything made out of natural materials. with a move into a new home on the horizon, i’ve been consumed with finding the little things that make a house, a home. since a chunk of my time is spent in the kitchen, i wanted to bring natural elements into the space to create a sense of warmth + serenity. hope there’s something here that sparks your interest + opens you to the idea of inviting a little nature into your kitchen too!

i’m a big fan of natural woods, leather and earth-tone textiles thrown together in a room with a neutral white background. something about all that white makes the textures and tones of the wood pop and look much more modern, than, had they say, been dropped into a room with wood  paneling. leather poufs, sisal rugs and sheepskins offset mid-century modern pieces and give the rooms an interesting and unexpected contrast. here’s what i mean.
