how much for that doggie in the window?

calling all dog lovers! woof! my new print is almost ready! i’ve press checked it and it’s ready to order in my etsy shop today. these prints are printed in black ink on RECYCLED archiva Starwhite 80lb. paper, at 11″ x 14″.
i’ve always loved this saying, and the way my dog always made me feel like the best person on the planet. no questions, just unconditional love and admiration, no matter how bad i might be feeling, or how silly i could be. this one is for you, cooper! i hope y’all like it too!
Cut & Paste.

i love old vintage flash cards. you know the ones teachers used way back when to teach us to read. there’s a booth at the alameda flea market that has loads and i love rummaging through them on every visit. and i love old weathered book pages. so with the two combined, i just love this new artwork from paste.

but artist denise Fiedler of san francisco-based ‘paste’ has really taken these flash cards to the next level. creating beautifully unique framed art collages, using pages from old vintage books and often including these vintage flashcards. from fashion to furniture, and animals to architecture, these collage pieces are just fantastic. take a look — i think they’ll really ‘speak’ to you. you can find them in her paste shop on union street in san francisco, here on her website, as well as in fine shops like John Derian, Paper Trail, Nest, Workshop and Upstairs at Pierre La Fond.

Studio Violet @ Twig.

Twig has a new, exclusive print by the fabulous duo Studio Violet, none other than artistic duo Camilla Engman and Elisabeth Dunker. Entitled ‘Up in the Air‘, it’s a giclee print measuring 9″x12″ printed on Hahnemuhle torchon high quality cotton paper, and quite affordable! I love everything about Studio Violet – ideally, I’d like to move into their ultra cool studio space and blog along side them! Studio Violet was set up in 2008 when Camilla Engman and Elisabeth Dunker decided that a mutual project or two was simply not enough. Head over to Twig to check out this latest, and greatest collaboration.

Don’t Forget to Say Thank You.
The lovely and talented artist Leigh Wells was very busy last week…creating her own hand-printed Gocco thank you cards. Leigh has Gocco screen-printed this great set of four notecards with screens created from her hand lettered artwork. Using luscious cotton paper (reclaimed trimmed ends from printmaking) and beautiful spring ink colors—gold, rose, and blue & green on French Poptone stock, Leigh’s packaged them up with some pretty peacock blue A2 envelopes. For more of Leigh’s notecards and artwork, visit her Etsy shop.
