well, my dear readers, it’s been quite a year. it’s had some serious ups and downs and very some difficult days, but with your company i made it through. i find myself feeling most fortunate for your loyal following and friendship, for had you not been here, those darker days could have really swallowed me up. i lost my father this year, and your uplifting words of support and kindness meant everything, so i want to deeply thank you for that. when i felt a little lost, having you and the blog to check in on every day was just what i needed. so, my gratitude is quite heartfelt.

i’m not a big one for the holidays, so i’m gonna lay low here at home with lucy and have some much needed down time. i may check in on the blog, with some images to uplift you throughout next week, but i’m going to rest up and rejuvenate myself. i hope you do the same. much, much love and appreciation for you all, and i’ll see you back here on january 2, 2012. a brand new year. have a very merry holiday. xoxo, victoria

happy finally friday, everyone. i just bought this print from fieldguided. it was so darn pretty, i had to have it on my walls. i hope your weekend just glitters!

i’m feeling all inspired by pretty prints and patterns lately. bright and cheerful, they add a great pop to any room – particularly ones dressed in white. add a stripe or a fancy floral, or maybe both and pow! it looks fresh and modern. just check out kate spade’s london shop’s striped staircase – wow! ka-pow! today, i spy prints and pattern.

ah, the problem of giving credit where credit is due. it’s become more challenging in the digital world, but it doesn’t give anyone permission to be lazy or irresponsible about giving credit for the images shared on your blogs and websites. i’m not trying to scold anyone, but it is a big pet peeve of mine. fortunately, pia jane bijkerk has found a fun and graphically pleasing way to show you the light when it comes to giving proper credit with her new prints, available in a variety of colors at the very awesome mammoth collections.

pia’s current blog post is also a giveaway of one of the prints, in the hopes of encouraging and getting the message out about crediting appropriately. go enter! or, can’t wait…visit mammoth collections and swoop one up.

well, not all that calm. when grant k. gibson interior design was commissioned to create a teenage girl’s bedroom for the elle decor showcase house, he went mad for hot pink! and when grant placed an order from my etsy shop for a pink keep calm and carry on print for the adjoining bathroom, he had me over the moon with excitement (not the least bit calm, at all!).

it’s wonderful to have one of my prints grace the walls of a grant k. gibson interior design masterpiece, and in an elle decor showcase house, no less, so i couldn’t be more thrilled. for a peek behind the scenes of grant’s work on the showcase house, pop into his blog, and for more of his beautiful design work, visit his portfolio.

and if you’re in the bay area, elle decor welcomes the public to view the showcase house every weekend from November 6th to 21st. you can purchase tickets through the junior league of san francisco. i highly recommend it — there’s nothing quite as inspiring as visiting the interiors of some of san francisco’s oldest homes.
