hello again! today i bring you a pink wall, and a stunning gold panel at casa barragán in mexico city – the former home of mexican architect luis barragán:

this space is almost perfect, but i just want to pop in and add one more little golden touch to this gorgeous alcove:

oh. the amazing portraits (mixed media on wood panel) by german artist tilo uischner. i love that the wood compliments the desk & chair, and i really love the idea of mimicking the square of the golden panel. i would hang just one of these pieces perfectly centered on that lower wall – but how on earth would i ever choose?! uh oh. and now i’m going to make things even more difficult for myself:

gah! the latest work from canadian artist ben skinner. 24k gold leaf and black enamel, on glass mounted to mdf. that slinky. those elastic bands. or maybe that tape measurer as an ode to the architect who lived here. i don’t know – i love them alllllll! again, i only want one piece in that space so i’m kinda breaking my own heart. why would i do that to myself? and why on earth would i do it 3 times?! yep, here i go again:

hello, it’s danielle from the jealous curator back to hang a bit of art! so, a few weeks ago someone asked me what i’d do on a staircase – well, here you go!

ok, first things first – those stairs {that I found via poppytalk’s pinboard} are clearly begging to have some art on them. yes, directly on them:

gorgeous – all of them! {and of course, i had to include a beautiful staircase graced by the lovely lucy!} i found all of these ideas on pinterest, so if you’ve got stairs that are in need of a little artsy love, go search for “stairs” and then get ready to paint, tile, and mirrorball! now, about that bare wall:

yes! an amazing, crazy little kitschy collection by ma + chr would be perfect – or should i say parfait? ma + chr is an art and design studio based in paris, run by mathilde aubier and christine delaquaize {hence the ma, and the chr}. i would love to have them cover that wall in glamour-eyed kitties, and sweet little bow ties! ooh, and then of course you could always hire an amazing artist to come over to your house and do this:

sigh. san francisco based artist leigh wells and her red, tangled ribbons could cover my walls any time! seriously, i really really really want to do this in my house! well, there you have it. a staircase post. i thought it would be tricky, but it was really fun! where else do you want me to hang art? let me know, and i’ll be back again in two weeks with more walls, and more art!  ~ the jealous curator xo

i’m feeling a little bit like i’m running up the down staircase to catch up here after all my time away. there’s no rest for the wicked! but, at least it inspired me. i love staircases, don’t you? there’s something romantic about them, and i remember as a kid, always wishing we lived in a two-story house, instead of our suburban single level tract home. so dullsville! i think there’s some kind of hopeful anticipation to a staircase, always wondering what awaits you at either end.
