even though it’s a holiday weekend, it’s been a busy one, ‘cuz i’m getting ready to speak at the altitude design summit this week! but, lucy and i were able to get out for a bit and clear our heads. a trip to fort funston on saturday — our regular weekend beach hang out, and then a great urban hike through the neighborhood to kite hill on what turned out to be a very chilly sunday in the city.

so, this is what my weekend has looked like so far, via instagram. today is a martin luther king day, so i’ll see you back here tomorrow for regular scheduled programming. oh, and if you’re wondering what that green concoction is just below, the folks at blueprint cleanse gave me a discount to try it out, and it was actually quite tasty. i felt really good and energized afterward, too, since after the new year i felt fairly toxic! see you tuesday, bright eyed and bushy tailed. whatever that means.

because my addiction to instagram grows, you get more sunday in the city via my new favorite iphone app. i have a few new additions around the house, so let’s see what’s new…

this is a side of san francisco that i rarely share – the more suburban side. there’s this funny little neighborhood lucy and i pass on our way to and from fort funston every weekend. and the shrubs? well, they just make me smile. it’s almost as if each neighbor tries to out fancy the other with their bizarre topiary skills. anyway, today i stopped and shot a couple. i call it ‘attack of the mad suburban shrubbery’.

i haven’t shared many sundays in the city lately…i guess i’ve been kinda busy! but here’s a few snaps from around san francisco’s mission district this week. i always love the gritty neon signs, exotic murals and worn out old buildings. i’m not sure why – they’re kind of colorful in their own way, though. here’s a look.

this sunday in the city was action packed! i had a bunch of my best girlfriends in town, so we hit san francisco running! from dynamo donuts, to a petit flea market in alamo square to brunch at outerlands, and a visit to the general store, and then on to hayes valley, and a whole lot more…we jammed a lot in. here’s a look at a san francisco girls weekend.

this sunday in the city, i’m sharing a last look at my trip to new york. it was a bittersweet trip, one that i looked so forward to, and one that ended in sad news about my dad. nevertheless, it was an experience of a lifetime, and one i will treasure. i love new york.
