artist Olaf Hajek seems right at Home in Berlin on the selby this week, but he says he has a love/hate relationship with the city. it doesn’t show. his home is beautiful and bright and cheerful, much like his incredible illustrations. plus, he has the most rad socks ever. go have a look at the full tour on the selby.

there’s yet another amazing home tour on the selby this month. damn, todd selby blows me away — in fact, my mighty life list includes my dream of having him shoot my home one day. i was honored last week to be included with the talented Mr. selby in the telegraph uk’s 20 best interiors blogs. our names have never been in such close proximity before, and i was elated. but back to this house. it’s a doozy. it’s the japanese home of hitoshi uchida – owner of j’antiques tokyo. eclectic, minimalist vintage-modern at its finest!

todd selby (my personal hero) has a new home tour up, and i couldn’t help but notice his focus on the small details. this is the very fabulous new york home of Michael Hainey – writer, artist and editor and Brooke Cundiff – director of merchandise for Park and Bond, and it’s clear the two have impeccable taste and an eye for the perfect vintage finds – from chandeliers to the unique way she displays her shoes, i love every inch of it.

oh man-o-man, todd selby has a new shoot posted of one of my decor heroes, british interior designer abigail ahern. her london townhouse is just the bees-knees! it’s dark and dramatic, and yet full of whimsy and a sense of humor. it’s got all these unexpected bold details, from that crazy poodle lamp from her collection, to that extremely rad turquoise clawfoot table-turned-desk. i shared previous incarnations of abigail’s home here, but i’m loving this update even more. for the full tour of abigail’s home, head on over the the selby.

i love the selby. i admire the way he pokes his cameras into people’s homes, very unstyled and very candidly. whether he’s shooting a tube of their toothpaste, or what they’re making for lunch, todd selby always captures his subjects beautifully and uniquely. i thought it would be fun to run around my own place snapping photos without adjusting anything and capturing my things just as they are. plus, it’s raining (yet again) and i didn’t bring you sunday in the city this week (excuses, excuses), so here you go, sfgirlbybay, unplugged.

Having a boyfriend that collects records, I can fully appreciate the album display on top of those old lockers used for a tv stand! It adds such character to the living room! And that hanging saw is pretty cool too.

the selby is right up there on my top ten list of favorite websites. i love todd selby’s candid photography and the personal glimpses into his subjects’ eccentric and eclectic homes and studios. who doesn’t love a chance to snoop into creative thinkers’ homes?

now, the selby has a fantastic new coffee table book out, aptly entitled, the selby. i could pour over this book for days and days, and have a good feeling i’ll be coming back to the selby time after time for little nuggets of grand inspiration. here’s a look at the selby.

i saw this home of hotelier sean macpherson over on the selby, and thought, i’ll bet everyone fights to sit in the swing chair. it’s just so unexpected and juxtaposed with the rest of his eclectic and slightly eccentric furnishings. what fun to have a swing in your living room! as always, i do love interiors brought to us by the selby — for more, pop on over.

i know it’s just a bloody alt summit love fest today, but i swear, we just can’t help it (why do i imagine all my fellow bloggers will be just as smitten?). however, i come back to san francisco, not only re-juiced and re-energized to bring you even better content, but also so inspired for my apartment makeover! there’s nothing like a little creative kick in the proverbial butt. i’m always in love with interior images from the selby, and over the weekend felt compelled to hunt for more. i love the selby, because i can be inspired from eclectic images and creative people from all over the world. here’s just a few favorites.
