the new issue of uppercase magazine is out and i’m quite over the moon to be included in one of this month’s features. it’s a little walk down memory lane to my last san frnacisco abode, but one of the best parts? anna beth chao interviewed me for the story. if you’ve ever read anything anna beth has written you’ll know she’s one of the quickest and most charming wits in town, so i’m extra excited to receive my uppercase this month and see what she had to say about my decor style. she’s pretty talented in that department herself (check out her blog + her design camps), so i do hope she liked what she saw! you can find uppercase online here and in select locations in your city. oh, and that amazing cover? that’s by artist debbie smythe.

The wonderful Suitcase Series from uppercase presents the lives of artists and designers in book form, first with camilla engman, and now the fabulous dottie angel — crafter extraordinaire! Dottie Angel is the second in the series published by UPPERCASE — image-based books, full of artwork, beautiful photographs and artifacts from where the artists live and work — like an intimate diary or sketchbook with each including a packet of special treasures. The book is a precious souvenir of a creative journey shared between the reader and the artist.

one thing i am super proud of is contributing articles to uppercase magazine. my whole life i wanted to be a writer, and i don’t mean in the blogging sense, but an actual journalist. i’m quite far from that, but writing for uppercase let’s me take my best shot at writing, and interview interesting people all over the world. it’s a dream come true.

yippee! it’s fab friday, and that means i get to shop for y’all. virtually, indeed, but it’s still a blast! this friday i thought we’d channel our inner-pretty! so everything this fab friday is soft and girlie (last week was stripes, after all). sorry, boy-readers, but maybe you’ll get in touch with your feminine side, or find something for the gal in your life!

I am thrilled to announce the arrival of Uppercase Magazine’s third issue! I’m personally very excited because I have another article in this issue of Uppercase, about wonderfully creative Mexico City-based artist Geninne Zlatkis.  I also have some other really happy news — I have been invited to be an ongoing contributor to Uppercase, so I’m pretty over the moon about contributing stories to a fantastic design magazine such as uppercase!!

In the fall issue, Uppercase was inspired by gentlemanly pursuits: woodworking, axe design, lutherie, bespoke suits, cycling and sailing, and it will be chock full of cozy, warm Autumn goodness.
