minted, behind the scenes.

the final minted advertisement.

i was recently lucky enough to be hired by creative director suzanne shade to assist her as a photo stylist on a new advertising campaign she’d developed for her client minted to run in town & country weddings magazine.

minted is an amazing online invitation and stationery company, where you choose from a vast array of beautifully designed templates (designers submit their unique work to minted, and you as consumers, vote to tell minted which designs to sell) and then you simply personalize them to fit your occasion. in this case, it was a wedding invitation, and our concept was a bride’s inspiration board — what a bride might put to get together as she planned her dream wedding, to coordinate with her minted wedding invitation.

that’s where my job as stylist came in. with suzanne’s art direction, i pulled pieces together that we might pin to our ‘mock’ bridal inspiration board. i shopped for lace, ribbons, and wedding decorations, some to shoot, and some to actually pin to the board. i shot the wedding cake topper (with my iphone in the store!), and suzanne found amazing cake decorator rylan ty of art and appetite, who created this masterpiece for us (above).

on set at xyz graphics in san francisco, the team including mariam nacify and melissa kim from minted, suzanne, myself and photographer eva moncada and photo assistant amber mckee, played with the elements (above) and props (below) to lay out the prettiest wedding inspiration board we could!

this is just one ad in the campaign, so i’ll share the other minted ad when it hits the stands! this first minted ad is currently running in town & country weddings. for more about minted and their customized holiday cards, stationery, baby announcements, and shower and party invites, pop on over to the minted website. thank everyone for such a fun shoot!

  1. That’s such a great cake!!! Unfortunately, my wedding was so fast that we hardly had time for a party, let alone such a wonderful cake!! At least I get to admire this one! :)
