Well, this is gonna be pretty darn fun (and yummy)! This fall Mi Piace Kate Design is collaborating with San francisco’s Pot+Pantry (i posted about them back here), offering collaborative skill exchange opportunities — a series of free workshops, presented by local makers, chefs, gardeners, bakers, foodies and farmers.

And to celebrate the launch of the workshops, Pot+Pantry is giving one lucky reader and a friend of their choice a chance to snag a spot in their first workshop A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO WINTER CONTAINER GARDENING (everything you need to grow winter greens in a small space) taught by Urban Veggie Starts on October 13th. The tickets are free to the workshops, but they’re keeping the events small, with only 12-15 spaces per event, so they’re going to go fast! to enter to win the 2 spots, just share with us what other workshops or cooking skills you’d love to learn more about. comment below before friday, october 7th for a chance to win.

From baking, brewing and cooking techniques to urban gardening, join MPK and learn more through their demonstrations, tastings and good conversation at Pot+Pantry. Expect Bay Area artisans and entrepreneurs from Sightglass Coffee, Eatwell Farms, Pastoral Plate, Revival Bar + Kitchen, Fire Escape Farms, Town Cutler, Urban Veggie Starts, plus many more.

•please remember you should be in the bay area, or be able to attend the Pot+Pantry event here in san francisco on october 13th. thanks and have fun! all events will be ticketed through event brite, and Pot+Pantry make the tickets available about two weeks before every event. Check back here for a schedule of all classes to come.

  1. This is such a great idea! We all have passions we can share and making them free and available to the community is what this city is all about!

  2. Yes! This is perfect–starting up my winter garden is next on my to-do list. I would love to learn more about making breads and pizzas…and urban bee-keeping!

  3. i’m a graphic design grad student in SF and i LOVE this idea. my MFA thesis is all about teaching people to cook and using graphic design to do this. would love to participate and learn more about this!

  4. This sounds like so much fun and would be a fun distraction from graduate school! I have a goal of adding ferns and trees around my apartment for a bo tanical look! And window boxes with herbs… how fun!

  5. I would love a chance to this workshop! I was just talking about starting up a little potted collection yesterday. Would love to know what really grows around here, its my first winter here!

  6. I would LOVE to attend this workshop! This is the first year, I’ve tried a winter garden and I could use all the help and connection with like-minded folks in the area that I can get! Other skills I’m looking to learn/refine are canning, cheese-making, pasta and bread making from scratch, and cooking root to stem. Thanks!

  7. I’d love to attend this workshop! Other classes I’d be interested in include pickling, canning, jam-making (can you tell I just want to have a bunch of mason jars in my kitchen?). Thanks for the opportunity!

  8. What a fun class, hope I can attend! I’d love to learn how to re-pot plants without totally ruining them, along with a cooking class on homemade sushi or diy granola. xx

  9. This would be perfect for me to attend because I’m hoping to integrate the same sort of idea into our future restaurant on Bush (btwn Larkin and Hyde) Called Agrro. Meat Co.
