hey y’all! i have some very happy news! i’d like to introduce to you my new contributor and assistant julia kostreva! i’ve been searching high and low for some help, and julia is just the person to perfectly fit the bill. a designer by day at hello lucky!, julia will be helping me out behind the scenes here, and bringing you a few posts here and there, including this new regular feature we call colorpop. please give a warm welcome to julia, and if you’d like to get to know her better, visit her website, her blog, and view some of the rather beautiful design work in julia’s shop.

around this time of year when i was a kid, the leaves on my favorite climbing tree would start to turn bright yellow. yellow on white feels just right when the bright california sun is hanging low and the air is getting cooler. paired with these geometric patterns, faded reds and blues, and spots of black, this modern day-dream is all about that last drop of warm sunshine!

magazine “Ein Magazin uber Orte 8, Paradise” from motto Berlin /  screen print from Sonnenzimmer / interior with an awesome yellow rocker chair via Bart-Jan Verhoef / half blue furniture from Retro Modern Design / pretty fall-colored silk scarf from milleneufcentquatrevingtquatre / charming wooden amperstand sign from Old New Again / mod-striped dress by Goldie from TopShop / and beautiful plants and floors via amy merrick’s an apple a day.
