hello again! ok, i love this room, but tell me you don’t wanna put something on one of those beautiful, empty white walls?

well, i sure do – so here we go:

whoa. the dizzying circles of canadian artist sarah gee. the top two images are huge, paper-cut pieces. perfectly cut paper circles layered on top of each other. the bottom two are drawings – yes, drawings! sarah invented a home made drawing machine (genius?!) and uses graphite and ink to create the most perfect drawings you could ever hope for. (see sarah & the machine in action)

so, when i was in san francisco last march, i popped by gallery hijinks, and was beyond thrilled to see this work in person:

gah! i love these mixed media collage/drawings oh so much. they are the work of new york based artist matthew craven, and a set of four of them would be amazing in here, no?

so, when i saw this room, the very first thing that popped into my head was this:

a lamp made from folding, wooden fabric. yep, you heard me. this piece, titled ‘miss maple’, is by german artist/designer elisa strozyk, and i think it’s absolutely perfect for this space – granted, your dinner guests might spend most of the evening looking up in awestruck silence, instead of making polite dinner conversation.

speaking of dinner conversation – these two ladies might bring things to a screeching hault:

now, normally i only show three options for every art goes here post, but i just had to include these! i absolutely love these large scale oil paintings by american artist jenny morgan. ok sure, your guests might feel a little nervous being stared at by these odd beauties, but it’s soooo worth it! and on that note, i think i’ll just sit here quietly until the next post. let me know where you’d like me to hang art. see you soon ~ danielle {aka the jealous curator}
