the socialite families.

i’ve recently discovered a new blog, the socialite family, created by Constance Gennari. i love these little peeks into the lives of creative folk that have gone on to share amazing abodes with growing broods. instead of the picture perfect homes you sometimes see in the pages of magazines, these tours look real to me, and inspire real ideas. when you’ve got a family living under one roof there are personalities and tastes that require subtle blending and compromise — you don’t always end up with style. but i have to say these socialite families certainly have more than their fair share of panache! here’s a look at one of my favorite homes, that of Mariu De Andreis of the Zef children’s clothing collection, his wife and their 3 children in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.

  1. Oh I’m weak in the knees for that kind of blog!! Gorgeous spaces but a bit quirky. I hear what you say about magazine formulas that bore you in the long run (the exception was Domino). This reminds me of The Selby (my favourite) or Covet Garden (Canadian cool!) or The Sneak Peeks from Design*Sponge and Design Mom’s Living with Kids posts among a few others. Thank you for sharing.

  2. I’ve always been a fan of the Socialite Family site! And I love the photo you share above with the black and white bedding. What a cute bedroom!

  3. The desk under the Sally Mann photograph is wonderful. I’m looking for a desk like that, where can I find one?!

  4. Oh, both are lovely! Thank you! By the way, your blog is fantastic. I love your choices and design style; it’s such an inspiration. Thanks again!
