good reads: frankie magazine.
by victoria comment

the new issue of australia’s frankie magazine is out, and while it could be considered mostly a fashion and lifestyle magazine, it’s also got some grand home tours. take this one for instance, a lovely pink cottage in cottesloe beach, perth australia lived in by kevin sanderson and caroline thew, who run a lovely little boutique with other members of their close-knit family, corner store. kitschy and oh so cute, right? i mean, look at that colorful spiral staircase! for whole adorable tour of this charming home, check out the latest issue of frankie.

oh — and one more photo! photographer carine thevenau’s wonderful outtake of their ‘mosaic teacup staircase’ below.

  1. Do you buy Frankie from a news stand? I’m in SF too and I haven’t seen it anywhere. Great post, thanks!

  2. Those tea cup steps remind me of the movie “How to Make an American Quilt” — Remember the one sister (Anne Bancroft?) smashed porcelain figurines, plates, etc. and then pasted them up in like, the laundry room? I always thought that looked like fun.

  3. Yay! Love seeing Aussie things on your blog (as an Australian). I can’t get enough of Frankie and I’m so glad it gets some international lovin’ too!

  4. Good Grief! I cannot get over this house. The stairs, the chandelier, the wallpaper. Love it all. I think I need to move to Australia.
