in this “i could live here” house, we’re visiting an immaculate house in apulia, italy, focused on the essential, and embracing the “less is more” way of life.
raffaele, architect, his wife francesca and their 2 children live in this apulia home. raffaele grew up in this region, so for him, renovating this home was a trip back to his roots.
raffaele’s main challenge was to remove the “unnecessary” elements and previous additions made to the house, to leave the majestic lines and original walls speak for themselves: “i could compare [this renovation] to the preservation of an old manuscript: just copying down the text word for word was not enough, you have to respect the manuscript’s intrinsic nature, its rhythm and also its defects.” a tough design exercise, brilliantly executed.

clean and calm but still a lot of detail and interest – lovely
Me encanta el detalle de la cocina y el color en el baño. Nice!
The mixture of clean white surfaces and interesting textures creates such a pleasing combination for the eye. I could definitely live there!

Yes…less IS more! I need to stop collecting so much stuff…Thanks for the inspiration!
I so love the white with grey stone, rustic wood. The splashes of color- the blue cabinet, the sink tile- gorgeous and pleasing to the eye!
Such great inspiration! Clean and airy but still rustic thats something I can’t seem to get right at home!!
i. the English phone to ring at 12:07:12 (16 seconds) and be discovered by Mrs.Lana’s daughter only because it rang , and ii. the other phone, registered to Filomena Romanelli, to ring, very briefly, at 12:11:02 (3 seconds) and, iii. the English phone to ring again, also very briefly, at 12:11:54 (4 seconds), after being brought into Mrs.Lana’s house.

Don’t you just love European homes? So stylish and this one in particular has a summer vacation look to it.
Raffaele & Francesca’s house is something wonderful also for Italian people like me! These photos make me really proud of our Made in Italy in furniture as well as in architect’s creativity. Well done Raffaele & Francesca!
