vancouver vintage modern.

well doesn’t this lovely looking vintage-modern remodel make you want to move on up to vancouver? it does me. i’ve always wanted a white little cottage and this east-end vancouver home is pretty much what i had in mind. it was badly neglected when the new homeowner found it, but its bones were good. the home was well-built with beautiful classic crown moldings, big wide windows and fir floors — not to mention that amazing wrap around porch– so there was a good foundation to build on and i love what’s she’s done. all the fresh white with pops of pale pink makes it just such a peaceful place, and it looks to me like a home that deserved this much love put into it. for the whole tour, check out the july issue of style at home.

  1. Oh yes, I agree, I envy that wrap around porch – it’s exactly what I want in a home :) i also love the first photo with the pink pattern pillow and intricate wooden bench!

  2. Beautiful. I love the little details. Really like the little dish of seashells. The bookshelf is my fave… I’ve been really into giant bookshelves filled with books lately!

  3. Hi Southern friends! I just noticed your kind words regarding this pretty little house. The owner is my client and it was a joy to help her in the transformation of a sad neglected rental to a feminine Frenchy beach-soft home.
Thanks for all the Canada Day well wishes!

    • I’m not sure – this home is in Canada, but I used Sherwin Williams Emerald – the base paint color is Extra White (SW 7006). I love it!

  4. Hello! I am the owner of this house! Thank you so much, Victoria, for featuring it and to each of you for your beautiful and touching comments. Thought I’d just answer the questions because I know how I feel when I see a design pic and want to know the details.. The bookshelves and mantle were custom made, because I wanted thick bookshelves. The indoor and outdoor white paint is all the same color – Benjamin Moore OC-65 Chantilly Lace. I searched through a ton of whites and chose this one because it went well with the antiques — a slightly warm but still very fresh bright beachy white. Thank you again for your gorgeous blog and honoring my jewel box house. xo danielle
