Portland’s Pigeon Toe Ceramics has a new collection launching this week and it’s a grand celebration of handcrafts and life-long learning. Starting out as an ‘outlet’ for founder and designer Lisa Jones, it was a starting point for playing with materials and techniques that has become an increasingly important aspect of her creative expression & growth as an artist. Lisa states, “My love of learning brought be to basket weaving this January, which is as old a practice as pottery, so it seemed somewhat fitting to find ways to bring the two together,” and I love the marriage of the two textures in the jewelry, tableware and pendant lamp shades you’ll find in Pigeon Toe’s newest collection.

Thanks for posting about this artist – I’m so happy to be aware of her work!
Love the woven lantern and lamp pieces! So creative!
Wow! That is such a beautiful collection! Minimalist and with a touch of organic weaving – just my cup of tea (pun intended)!
