  1. While I only got away there one summer, my favorite getaway would have to be the island of Tenerife. I was fortunate to spend a month there 10 years ago. The pace of life was so relaxing. We would go to the outdoor market every day to buy fresh fish and produce and take 5 hour mid day siestas when the sun was blazing and the heat was unbearable. The people were friendly and we made some lifelong friends.

BTW, no matter what, I will need to get that Preserve travel mug. Being in the field of Preservation, I think it is a must.

    Thanks for the contest!

  2. My favorite summer getaway is San Francisco to escape the heat and humidity of NYC! Though in reality any getaway is nice especially when it’s with my husband who always reminds me to slow down and just relax.

  3. My fav summer gateaway? Absolutely Toscana, a part of the center of Italy. Great food and wine, nice people, amazing nature.

  4. My favorite summer getaways usually involve a music festival. Not as relaxing as sitting on a beach, but it’s definitely my style.

  5. My favorite summer getaway is this little cabin in Co. Donegal off the coast of Ireland! It’s in the middle of nowhere, with no neighbors for miles. It’s a great place to enjoy nature, unplug, and hang out with your dog :)

  6. Wow, they really do have some great products. I love their day packs. We are going to Colorado later this year. I could really use one for hiking in the mountains.

  7. I live in the desert so my favorite summer getaway includes the beach… just about anywhere! Mexico, San Diego, L.A. … I’ll take it! :o)

  8. I am planning on visiting Savannah, GA in a few weeks, and I’m pretty sure it will quickly become my favorite summer getaway!

  9. I love Northern Michigan! Lake Michigan makes you feel like you’re at the ocean, but with fresh water. The air is so clean and fresh, and at night, you can see all of the stars. It’s a breath-taking place to go to escape!

  10. In one week I’m packing up my car and moving from California to Virginia. I think a cross-country roadtrip IS the perfect summer getaway, at least right now! Can’t wait to hit he road!

  11. My favorite summer getaway has always been Cabo San Lucas! It’s a whole different world there, without being too far away from home in LA. There’s nothing I love more than a nice beach with clear waters, and of course a couple of margaritas. I am a huge fan of mexican food and the tacos are to die for. But overall, its the relaxing, laid back atmosphere that I love. Always nice to have a peaceful break from the hustle of the busy city.

  12. My favorite getaway is to the Bahamas – I live in Florida so this is not hard. They are not crowded in the summer, the weather is usually great, and I make sure my cell phone does not work and I don’t have internet access. Then it really is a “getaway”.

  13. I always try to go somewhere new every year – I recently moved from Texas to California and have been enjoying new destinations up the coast. I could really use that canvas tote for the beach exploring! :)

  14. North woods of Wisconsin. Day of hiking, canoeing, swimming. Followed by a rich meal at a local supper club. ‘Nuff said.

  15. Anywhere friends are. The people I love are scattered across the world, so if I have the opportunity to travel, I’ll be visiting them—Tennessee, Alaska, Scotland, and beyond.

  16. My favorite summer getaway is to my parents house where I grew up…it’s outside the city and gorgeous and restful. They have a pool and fresh fruit all summer long.

  17. I have two favorite getaways: camping, and exploring Europe. I guess I’m lucky because I get a cheap and expensive option, but both are just so great!

  18. I have that copy of On the Road–great edition! My favorite (ideal) vacations would be a cross-country American road trip.

  19. I love all sorts of summer get-aways. Sitting at the lake-front in Michigan or Wisconsin are the leading contenders these days. With a baby, anyplace you can sit and be calm is a winner!

  20. My favorite summer getaway is a quick trip to the desert. Airbnb’ing with friends in Joshua Tree or pool parties and bike-riding in Palm Springs are the best “i need a break” weekend getaways for me and my gal pals.

  21. Camping is my favorite summer getaway, be it in the desert, the forest, on lake or river shores. Fresh air and unplugging are restorative.

  22. For a quick summer getaway, I love spending time at the lake. Lake Lure, NC is the perfect spot to enjoy both the water and the mountains.

  23. Costa Rica! I was completely enchanted by the natural beauty, the people, the culture, and the food. The emphasis on sustainable eco-tourism was also inspiring. Thanks for introducing me to Izola–loved looking around on their site.

  24. My favorite summer getaway includes exploring Europe! Can’t think of anything better than adding some new scuffs to my dusty travelin’ converses :)

Really love the balsam pillows — thanks for hosting this giveaway!

  25. I grew up in Alaska, but am on the East Coast this summer. With that, my favorite summer getaway would definitely have to be somewhere on the coast of Alaska – I miss the LONG summer days and the many opportunities to go beach combing, fishing, or just getting out on a boat!

  26. I’ve used their soaps and loveee them! Loving the clocks, and But I’ve really been itching to try those incense cones and that cabin spray! I suppose I could try them all if I won this amazing giveaway. Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway!!

  27. I spent one amazing summer day on the boardwalk in Santa Cruz & it was one of the best days of my life. It was my first-ever trip to California.

  28. My favorite getaway of all time has been Maui. It was just so beautiful. I dream about going back almost every day. Thanks for the chance to win! Xo.

  29. My favorite Summer escape is Cape Breton Island, in Nova Scotia, Canada…stunning vistas, crashing ocean waves, craft breweries, farmers markets, fresh seafood, the kindest most welcoming locals, and the feeling that you are the last person alive in the universe while staring out across the ocean…the BEST!

  30. it’s not a very “summer” destination but i always end up nyc every summer :) can’t get enough of that city. i’m also dying to visit tulum in the near future.

  31. My favorite summer getaway is Byron Bay. Beautiful beaches, amazing hinterland and fantastic food. The perfect Australian summer.

  32. Denmark and Norway! Beautiful landscape, and beautiful people. And, the sun only goes down for maybe 2 hours.

I do not have a Twitter account. They made me mad, and then we broke up (due to my no malarkey policy).

  33. Hello,
    What a fab giveaway!
The favourite place I love to go for summer is a place up to a hill near Nyons, in the Drôme area, in France. It’s quiet; the nature is beautiful, people and food are too good to be true.

    Take care, Laure

  34. For the past 7 years, my uncle has invited the whole extended family (we’re talking 50 people) up to his “cottage” in Muskoka, Ontario. The place is essentially a resort, with a baseball diamond, tennis court, private beach and chefs to make all the meals. I love swimming in the lake, exploring the property, playing games and soaking up some sun when we’re up there. It’s a great opportunity for the family to enjoy themselves and have fun in a setting that’s significantly less formal than a dinner party, engagement party, baby shower, etc. and we always have a great time! I actually just returned from this year’s family weekend yesterday, and it was definitely one for the books!

  35. We have summer every single day of the year in this part of the world so I would definitely want to enjoy colder climates like Spain, thank you.

  36. My favorite getaway is to escape to our summer house on the island of Tjörn, on the west coast of Sweden. Nothing is more relaxing or beautiful and our cat loves it too!

  37. I am here right NOW on my favorite summer getaway! The Mar Vista Cottages on an organic farm just a smidge north of the heavenly town of Gualala on Highway 1. If only I had the IzolaNYC vintage Zeiss lens binoculars for the bird and white water watching :)

  38. I live in Oregon, so I don’t really leave the state during summer, since summer is the only time it’s not raining. Crater Lake is one of the best places to visit, hiking to the top of Mt Scott and then down the crater and into the lake, then off to the lodge for a cocktail and a view!

  39. My favorite summer getaway is Sozopol, Bulgaria.
Love its architecture, narrow streets and beautiful picturesque seaside!

  40. My summer getaway is my house by the sea in Estonia, it has no internet there and its such lovely peaceful area where there are no people.

  41. Summer here is really hot so I like to head south to the beautiful Great Southern region of Western Australia, home to some very large, very old trees.

  42. Dear Victoria,
we are nearly at the end of the month.
When are we going to kno the result? You haven’t post anything on your twitter.
    Thanks, Laure
