although this design book is written in swedish, and i can’t read much of it, Urban Vintage by stylist, photographer an author ida magntorn is still completely inspiring. the book includes stylish and eclectic residences, all a little bit bohemian modern and very vintage inspired, and its pages are filled with gorgeous imagery and inspiring interiors — from fabulous homes and locations in los angeles, to paris, london, copenhagen and new york. very cosmopolitan, indeed. Urban Vintage shares shopping and flea market resources from all those cities along with fun facts, like films that really depict the nature of the city — all of which I could definitely read, so the gist of Urban Vintage is still very resourceful and inspiring.

the book will be published in english entitled Home Style by City: Ideas and Inspiration from Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles, and Copenhagen next month, and you can pre-order a copy here. but i guess i just couldn’t wait — i still enjoy a good picture book, and this one is one of my favorites. be sure and check out ida’s blog as well.

  1. These homes are gorgeous and so very of the moment–what I love about them is how personal they all look. The pieces in them look like they’ve been assembled over a lifetime. They have an element of individuality that’s been missing from interior design in the beige era–so inspiring. Thank you for sharing!

  2. Oh my goodness! This is my design aethestic. After searching, I have found it! I cannot wait to paint my walls all white. *They are orange in one room and turquoise in another. I think my husband and I have a project in the near future- white walls! :)

  3. Ooo, it’s all so funky fresh! Rich textiles in simple spaces with lots of white smattered with punchy color… my Achilles heel. Well done curating such a lovely little selection!
