  1. I’m confused… aren’t these lights from Le Case de Cousin Paul (http://www.lacasedecousinpaul.com/)? I went to the store in Paris a few years back when Jordan featured them on her blog and bought them and have since recommended them to many friends. Or did she just copy and repackage them? Sorry, was just confused.

  2. Hi Lorelay!

These lights are actually from Asia, and there are several companies that import them to Europe. Case de Cousin Paul is one of them! It made me frustrated that there were no good US sources where you can customize so I decided to start the company myself. We’ve spent a lot of time testing and modifying samples to get them just right and have even had a few colors custom dyed to create balls that don’t exist elsewhere. Hope this helps your confusion!

    Jordan

    • Dear Jordan

Your answer to Lorelay is partially true. If this kind of product comes indeed from Asia, genuinely from Thailand, La Case de Cousin Paul were the first to have them manufactured there, many years ago (7). It is their idea. They don’t just import them as you seem to imply. I am sorry Jordan, your product may be a very good one, and the most available in US but your product is a copycat. For your information and for the one of all readers La Case de Cousin Paul sell in the US. I am not working with them, they are just good friends and I am kind of disgusted that you don’t tell the exact truth and don’t admit doing the same products, even the packaging looks alike… I will let them know about your business anyway…

      Regards

      Marc

      • Hi Marc!

I’m afraid you have incorrect information. While I love and respect the company Case de la Cousin Paul (I love their shop in Paris!) they did not invent the string lights. I bought them in Thailand over ten years ago are literally everywhere over there. Their own site mentions that they discovered the lights in Thailand and began to import them.

        xoJordan

      • Marc – you sound very put out. Not as put out as the Thai’s should be about your comments.
I lived in Thailand and know very well that La Case were not the first to have them. I ‘created my own’ lighting in Thailand over 15 years ago, where it is their traditional craft. I was very surprised when I saw La Case de Cousin Paul in Paris that they were claiming to be the original creators and you are claiming they have the original idea. Suppose you think the Thai’s are copycatting La Case? Maybe you would like to inform the Thai;s of this fact? I believe La case tell the story of coming across them in Thailand – hardly their idea then. I think the first in Europe would be more appropriate. The packaging does not look alike and there are many other companies around the world doing the same thing. cableandcotton in UK, cottonballlights.com in Europe, Happy Lights, etc, etc. Jordan well done on setting it up in USA – I very surprised it took someone so long to do it and wish you the greatest success.
