despite the little heat wave los angeles is enjoying, my trip to southern california thus far has been nothing but fun! i enjoyed a pretty leisurely road trip down highway 101, stopping in san luis obispo for the night, and spent an afternoon by the sea at avila beach. the perfect road trip resting spot. before leaving i stopped into the adorable scout coffee (below) to fuel up before the ride to l.a.
then i zipped down the coast, stopping to spend time with my family and a dinner in malibu at moonshadows. i hadn’t eaten here since prom night in high school — nothing much had changed, but the food was quite excellent, and the sunset view on the deck with the waves crashing below — pretty sublime. from there, i headed to the downtown studio of my bestie bri of designlovefest at the unique space. good times ensued.
we’ve been running around los angeles with stops at some great little shops, like en soie, the claire vivier flagship shop, the eastside handmade pop-up market, and chay. i’ll be sharing more about some of our delicious dining experiences (including the commissary at the line hotel) in part deux, l.a. — until then, can you please cool down, los angeles?

If you ever need an assistant to go on adventures with you, I volunteer! I’ll carry all the bags! lol
It is insanely hot here, but it does look like you had a great time in LA! Hopefully it cool down sooner.
Just there myself! I love the industrial area east of downtown, and wish i knew what this area is called(?) Angel City Brewery and Stumptown coffee the next morning were my stops and time to catch some awesome street art!
I believe it’s called the Artist District. Around 3rd and Traction.
yep, it’s the Arts District. :)
Beautiful! Victoria, where oh where can I get a pair of those palazzo pants?! Love. You can send some LA heat out east. Nice and crisp today in northern Indiana.
I got these at Anthropologie – it was a while ago, but they have different prints now and then.
Seriously, can the heat way just, well, cool it already? But at least you’re getting some beautiful pictures that make the weather look just perfect.
oh, that looks like fun.
I saw a couple of photos on instagram. great.
but i ask me one question. How you get this great photo look?
:-)
dana
thanks, dana! i shoot with my iPhone using the VSCO App, which is free. I use the C1 Filter, with quite a few adjustments – mostly with the exposure. :)
thank you Victoria.
i love the vsco App. I’m addicted VSCO. The Filter T1 is my favorite.
But C1 sounds good.
Have a nice day and thanks a lot for your answer.
