it’s been a while since i went daydreaming about where i might like to live. i very often have fantasies about living in new york city — a stylish NY loft-like space would suit my fancy quite nicely, thank you very much. i imagine it to be an eclectic mix of sleek modern meets vintage-inspired. lots of black, white and neutrals. in my dreams, i live here: new york city.
i love the idea of some simple but stylish and space-saving barstools at the kitchen counter. also – a sweet little coffee station is a must. the dining room will have floor to ceiling book cases and an ultra modern and fantastic light fixture. eames arm chairs will look smashing around a simple polished black marble dining table. and naturally, i’ll have a fantastic view from my kitchen + dining area of the manhattan skyline.
in the hallway from dining room to living room, i’ll have a little modern art gallery of my very own, shared in a grouped collection on one big white wall. the living room will be nice and cosy with a natural sisal rug, soft sheepskin throws over a low slouchy sofa and modernist chaise lounge by the fireplace to mix things up a little.
i’ll keep my bedroom open and airy with a large geroge nelson bubble lamp to enhance the tall ceilings. to add a bit of charm i’ll share my sentimental but somewhat kitschy collection of new york city souvenirs. and lastly, my bathroom will be a pretty little sanctuary from the big bad city — peaceful and filled with lovely light. okay — i think i’m ready! NYC here i come.

Well, thanks. Now I wanna live in NYC, too.
How funny! I just moved to Noe Valley and today’s gloomy weather makes me want to move to NYC for some odd reason. Thanks to your post, I was able to day dream about it! One day!!

I’m actually planning to go to New York this coming Fall Break to watch Broadway musicals with a friend to celebrate her birthday! It won’t be the same as moving to New York and getting an awesome place like this, but I’m sure it’ll still be breathtaking :) -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
Ha, that was so cool! And so similar to my dream!
I’ll happily be your room mate! I’m also dreaming of a similar flat in London, if you are up for it.

Let me know if you need a roommate. I’m in.
