there are so many magical places i’ve discovered in brooklyn, but there is one shop, in particular, that tends to evoke the wanderlust spirit in me. and i’m delighted to be adding it to the spotted series. i often stop in here for just a peek, but then end up staying awhile admiring every little item and wondering where each came from—perhaps from a local designer that has yet to be discovered or from an artisan afar. this enchanting space is like a gypsy caravan of sorts and it is fittingly called beautiful dreamers.

owners and stylists, april hughes and marina burini, have created a unique boutique like no other, filling it with treasures of all kinds, including an exquisite collection of flowing frocks, one-of-a-kind jewelry, textiles, art and handcrafted wares for the home, both vintage and new. the selections are constantly evolving as new pieces from their travels and discoveries are mixed in. an abundance of foliage, a rope swing, clothing racks and surfaces made of tree branches and trunks, the valanced dressing tent and other natural adornments further lend to the magic of the space.
