the latest issue of covet garden invites you into artist Holly Farrell’s warm and cozy urban cottage that she shares with her partner Stephen. i was so excited to see Holly’s living and studio space, because I’ve long been an admirer of her paintings — simple still life’s of inanimate objects captured in the most charming way (like the telephone above, and the high heels, below). The couple renovated their late 1800s Parkdale, toronto home and filled it with their many vintage collections. The result is welcoming, and as charming as Holly’s paintings. for the full tour of their very lovely home, visit covet garden.

  1. Such a simple, dreamy home… and even more than that – HER ART!!! I’ll be dreamin’ of that painting of the pink heels and floral for a good long time! Thanks for the peak!

  2. I love this home and I LOVE Holly’s work. I remember reading an article about her a few years ago and being so inspired to learn that she is a self-taught painter. She’s definitely tops in my book.

  3. this space is great – i love the artistic feel that has been incorporated. the paintbrushes above the sink is a nice touch. our designer at red will often time pull items from a clients home + incorporate them as accessories in a room to tell a story. such fun – thanks for sharing!

  4. I have several of Holly’s paintings and I never tire of looking at them. I just moved and rehung them on different walls and in different light and I am rediscovering them with great delight!

  5. HA! Love her paintings…happy to see I am not the only messy painter!!! My floor use to look just like that till I started drawing instead!!! (love her home too!!)
