i often wonder if i’d like living in brooklyn — i never did the new york thing, and i think i would have liked it. never say never, but for now i’m just vicariously enjoying this fort greene apartment belonging to Boutique owner Lauren Snyder featured recently on a refinery29 home tour. lauren owns the primary essentials and much like her lovely shop, her apartment is minimalist but homey — i think the plants, and that exposed brick and the lovely built-in bookshelves really warm the space right up. it looks to me like she simply shares her most beloved belongings, and nothing overly fussy and that’s something i’m working hard at achieving. for the whole tour, hop on over to refinery29.

Gorgeous! I love all the plants and succulents! I totally agree with you – she’s got a great balance of “stuff” on display. Not too minimal, but everything seems very purposeful! That is what I go for as well :)

Those shelves and open brick wall are amazing – such a stunning space!
I love the collage in the second and third photo! Who is the artist who made this?
I absolutely adore the photography on the walls!
Love the relaxed feel of this home.

Hi Victoria,
We recently left Buchanan Manor (forever in my heart!) for Brooklyn, where we live right near the Primary Essentials. Lovely store – you’d love it, and I think you’d really enjoy Brooklyn. That said, you epitomize SF, to me, and SF will always be my home. I suspect you’d feel the same way. :)
hi jayni! well, you never know. things are always changing and rapidly so here in san francisco. so i could land anywhere! but yes, i will always love this city!
I think I’m in love with the beautiful exposed brickwork and the tall, white window!
