when you think about your dream house, have you ever had that vision where you’re standing at your kitchen sink and it’s flooded with light and you’re gazing at your lovely, green garden and your little herb garden on the kitchen sill is thriving and all is right with the world? no? well you should try it because it’s really a satisfying image. i’d really, really like my kitchen to have a nice big picture window with light streaming through the space. here’s some kitchen windows that would fulfill all my dream house requirements.
one fine stay (above and below).
These are all beautiful, I love the ledges showing up in kitchens lately. Just yesterday I took down my hanging bar / hooks in my kitchen and added a ledge. I love how much cleaner it makes the room look.
YES! When we began looking for a house we started talking about the things that drive us crazy about poorly designed spaces and what we wouldn’t be willing to settle for. When it came to the kitchen, where we spend so much of our time, a window at the sink is number one! There is nothing more depressing than doing dishes, prep and washing veggies while looking at a wall. These images are perfect Victoria, thank you, as always, for the inspiration. I am loving your “dream house” posts.
Windows + open shelving are part of my dream kitchen.
gorgeous pink artwork!

A window above the sink is absolutely a requirement in my dream house. That’s how I always set up my kitchen on the Sims!
does anyone know what bar stools those are in the first image?
i wish i did, lauren. they look vintage to me.
I love your blog! Thank you for posting such inspiring pics each day!
I love working from my kitchen and it’s simply because I got a huge window right next to the table, it’s a must x

I’m totally into the Dream House series. I have always wanted a good ledge on a kitchen window for a little herb garden. Ahhhh, that’s the life.
I never gave it much thought before, but now I’m getting ready to move into a new place that does have a kitchen window (the view isn’t spectacular, but it’s a kitchen window!) and I can’t stop thinking about how lovely that is. The place isn’t fancy that window is giving me so much hope!
I’m really enjoying this series Victoria!
