let's get small / sfgirlbybay

man oh man, this is a pretty space — or maybe i should say, woman oh woman, because it is just so feminine! also quite small, but ever so lovely. featured on lonny, this is the mini manhattan apartment of Mischa Lampert, an Interior designer who’s created one amazing 300-square-foot SoHo space. since i’m probably going to be getting quite small myself, i’m in awe of the space mischa has created — a very functional but exquisite “Scandinavian with a touch of Parisian glam” apartment. she is obsessed with making everything versatile, a motto i’m hoping to make mine in my new space. the Pièce de résistance? it’s that tufted wall — but not a tufted wall at all, but wallpaper! for the full tour, visit lonny and find out more of mischa’s beautiful space-savings design ideas.

  1. ok my eyes did not deceive me. the shower is next to the kitchen sink! where’s the toilet? i’m also confused where the bed is. does the sitting area become the bed? this layout is completely confusing. beautiful but confusing.

  2. oh i’m so bummed that’s wallpaper! i loooooove the idea of that pale tufted wall. and something about that tassel is so sexy!
(also agree with jen, the layout is confusing. i need more pix!)

  3. This is an old NYC tenement, railroad apt layout. My apartment in the East Village is similar, though far less beautiful, with a bathtub on one wall of the kitchen/middle room next to the sink and a separate toilet/water closet. Mischa has done an amazing job with the space- it looks so glamorous. She obviously lives pretty minimally, but it still looks comfortable.
