modern classics + a big spring sale / sfgirlbybay

as i hunt for my new home i’m also carefully considering the new furnishings and lighting fixtures on my wish list. i know i’d definitely love to add to my collection of saarinen tables, and right now YLiving is having a huge spring sale, so i may just have to dive in and make that saarinen dining table splurge. but i also need to consider lighting options and they’re on sale, too — i just know i want a simple pendant lamp, but one that’s interesting enough to make a statement above the simple saarinen table. i really like the delicate looking Crio Pendant Light By Giovanni Minelli, and i’ve always had a crush on the caravaggio pendant lamp, but the gold Calabash Pendant Light is stunning, too! i also love the soft feminine shape of the link suspension light, and i’ve not seen these lamps around everywhere, so something new and unexpected would be nice for a change. so many decisions!

i could go extra bold with a statement chandelier, and i quite like the x-large bubble chandelier by jean pelle — its blown glass globes are super pretty! so many choices, but i have a little time. YLighting’s sale runs now through march 31st, with up to 20% off some really lovely designer lighting — in fact the sale includes 40 leading European and American brands, such as Artemide Lighting, le klint, and one of my personal favorites, Tom Dixon. i’d be quite happy with his void copper pendant light, too!

the YLiving sale includes all the yummy, good stuff — from a cherner round table to cherner armchairs, to the sweet Belly Desk By Steuart Padwick, and the Alden Sideboard or the classic coffee table, both from Eastvold Furniture. i think it may be the right time to stock up on all the designer classics we’ve always wanted!

• This post made possible in partnership with YLighting, YLiving, and YBath but all opinions and thoughts are my own. thanks for the supporting the brands that make sfgirlbybay possible.

  1. Amazing! I just bought a house in the East Bay (San Leandro, in a cute old neighborhood by BART) and am in need of furniture! Are you looking to stay in the Bay Area? I’d totally recommend San Leandro, took us awhile to get there (12 other offers before looking here) but we just couldn’t compete in Oakland, SF, or Berkeley.

    • it’s a rad sale! i’m looking mostly in los angeles – silver lake, echo park & los feliz. i like a city vibe, so trying to stay central. :)
