it’s hard to believe this is a prefab home from the 1960’s, but it is. it’s the family home of jewelry design cecilia broegger and her graphic designer husband jesper Dahlgaard near cophenhagen in denmark. the two of them renovated this old prehab — originally covered in peeling wallpaper, brown ceilings and black slate floors — into a scandinavian dream home. simple furnishings, beautiful light wood herringbone parquet floors and updated white walls and ceilings make everything else pop — including their artwork and the green garden views from outside. for the full tour, visit bolig liv.

  1. Hi Victoria! I have been so impressed by the quality of pre-fab homes since it has been gaining popularity. I have found so many good resources from Dwell magazine (and I can forward you the names of a few if you like). The final cost is not as high as one would expect either. It would be great to find an empty lot that you could just build on using a pre-fab since they are so well designed and constructed that they are also fast to out up in the final location. Most importantly, it is amazing that the new kinds of pre-fab don’t look anything like a pre-fab…amazing. I hope your home search in LA is going well. Maybe you can use this option??!! I’m sure you have thought of this already? How fun!!

  2. So small, but I’m wondering where they got those beautiful magazine holders. That color is everything. I know that I can spray my own but wouldn’t it be great to just order them–but from where?
