the home that i bid on last week (and lost — boo hoo) had the most beautiful kitchen. sleek Carrara marble countertops and backsplash — and deep, almost-navy gray cabinetry. it was stunning. i could have cooked in there a whole lot! chop onions ’til i’m sobbing? no problem! alas, it is not to be, but it’s definitely got me considering that kind of makeover should the home i finally find need a renovation, and it’s entirely likely it will. a lot of the places i’m looking at are fixers, with ahem — atrocious looking kitchens. but thankfully, there’s plenty of inspiration out there on the interwebs these days — so i’m keeping track of my dream kitchens on pinterest, and in my imagination — here’s a few dreamy ones.

  1. I can’t believe you are losing so many houses!!! Don’t they know who you are? If you buy their house, it will become not only beautiful but FAMOUS.

  2. This is lovely if you live in a Suburb and have a cleaner and Males .I on the other hand live in a top floor flat on a B Road with a Bus route going down it . Also I have the dubious pleasure of sharing my abode . With two 6,2 Man and their social habits are on par with a cave man !

So Na this not going to work for me !!

  3. Really digging how the rugs in a few of these kitchens help create a different vibe against the all-white backdrop (I’m in the rug business, so I’m always drawn to the floor first…)

I’m curious to know… which style do you envision in your dream kitchen?
the bright, bold Turkish kilim from Becki Owens Design,
the low-pile traditional from The C Home, or
    the muted neutral from vtwonen?

  4. Oh, I feel you girl. I’ve been trying to buy a house also and the market is INSANE. I’ve put solid offers in (above asking) on 3 homes that I’ve loved and haven’t even gotten close. I’m going on month 9 of my search. It’s so tough. More and more, I’m coming around to the fact that I’ll likely have to renovate a kitchen. I’ll be crossing my fingers for you! :)
