one of my favorite ways to unwind and revive my creativity is to take a road trip. just get in the car, put the top down and see where the day takes me. sometimes it’s a small town up north, hunting for yard sales, or a local flea market; but it usually involves some kind of vintage treasure hunt – just like this weekend, which I shared earlier this morning. i’ve amassed quite a few collectibles (ahem, maybe too many) — like vintage matchbooks, old maps, secondhand scores i love. so when framebridge invited me to try out their custom framing service it seemed like a perfect way to get my old stuff out of boxes and display them in a new way. i chose to have them frame an old map of los angeles to embrace my new home; a bunch of funky old matchbooks i had stashed away; and finally a beautiful vintage scarf i love, but rarely wear. rather than collect dust, i think they’ve turned into a really interesting way to share my ‘junk’, easily transforming them into a framed piece of art.

  1. This is great, I’m definitely going to use this for framing things that are just laying around the house. Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. Love all three things you framed. I’ve worked doing custom picture framing in the past and my favorite things were personal momentos. Looks like they did a fabulous job.
