the Smoked Thyme Fall Rye Sour would be perfect for a pre-thanksgiving dinner cocktail, too. wild turkey rye is the ideal spirit for awakening our taste buds (and relaxing the busy chefs!) before the big family meal. In season October through February, persimmons are the golden delicious fruits that hang off the trees after the leaves drop in autumn and they are all over my neighborhood. add wild turkey rye and the finishing touch — a smoking sprig of thyme and you’ve got yourself the yummiest autumn cocktail ever. for more tasty cocktail recipes follow women & whiskies on instagram, and visit their website.

  1. This recipe comes right on time! I tried doing a persimmon drink last year but it didn’t work out very well. This one seems much better.

  2. I can’t wait to try this! Such beautiful photos and staging as well. Funny, when I saw smoky cocktail, I was expecting something with Mezcal. Pleasantly surprised with the Rye.

  3. Not sure how I found this but it’s a great cocktail, and the hands-down most gorgeous food photo shoot I’ve ever seen!
    Thanks very much for both!

  4. A year later, I still love this cocktail. I looked forward to persimmon availability so I could have this again, and served it to guests during Christmas “happy hour” tonight.
I need to bookmark so I can find it without searching, and check out some more of your blogs.
