let there be beautiful light.

there’s nothing worse than bad lighting. it can take you from looking your most beautiful to a frightening Frankenstein moment instantly. But Philips Lighting is introducing a new line of dimmable LED light bulbs that are a complete game changer. I always want to use LED’s for energy efficiency, but i don’t like the weird blue casting they create — so cold and unwelcoming. but Philips sent me their new Philips LEDs with a dimmable warm glow effect to try out and i am sold! even when lily was photographing these images around the house she mentioned how great the light they give off is — and shooting in dim light is challenging!

the Philips LEDs with a dimmable warm glow effect take lighting to the next level by changing color temperature as they dim. We put my dining room and overhead kitchen light fixtures on dimmer switches to test it out, and voilá — lovely soft and cozy light! Through dimming alone, Philips LED’s move from producing a warm incandescent light effect to a softer sunset light effect, helping you to create the perfect ambiance needed for every room in your home, and for every mood or occasion this fall and beyond — they’re really nice to read by, too. The new Philips line includes five bulbs, offering a lighting solution for any room or fixture, and they provide up to 85% energy savings and last up to 15 years. i will definitely be using the Philips LED’s from here on out — they have really made the light in my house so much more warm and flattering.

  1. Hi Victoria,
    Indeed your home is lovely. I have loved your blog for a long time, but I have to admit that those sponsored posts are seriously spoiling it for me!

    • Hi Ann, I’m so sorry to hear that, but if you stop to consider that I write about 10 posts per week for you to read for free, that I make my living off a few sponsored posts per month. And I turn down way more than I accept – I only accept sponsored posts when I believe them to be content that’s is relevant and helpful and something I might share with you anyway. These bulbs are game-changers when it comes to LED’s – the light is soft and beautiful, and I totally stand behind them.

  2. Great post, good lighting makes a space or ruins it. Just bought the Phillips Led warm glow but haven’t installed them yet and am encouraged they will be better than what I’ve experienced so far. Your place looks great, BTW, and noticed you used semi gloss or similar sheen on your kitchen ceiling. A great trick to reflect light and love that application a low ceiling height.

    Per a previous comment, I like the storytelling sponsored posts. The ones I don’t care for are the unrelated headline banners that appear in the feed emails.

    Beautiful work, always enjoy reading your posts and seeing a bit of the West Coast vibe.

  3. Nice home! From witch brand is the lamp over your dinning table? I am looking for exapt this kind of lamp for my living room ;)
    Thanks in advance!

  4. Hi Victoria- your house is looking lovely. Will have to try these bulbs- that’s been my main complaint with the LED bulbs, ugly light.

    Where did you get the table you are using as an island in your kitchen? Love that!

    Happy Thanksgiving~

  5. Hey Victoria. Your place looks amazing! I adore the swimmer print in your lounge. Could you let me know where it’s from. Happy Thanksgiving from Sydney, Australia btw :)
