this week’s friday finds are all about over the top tile. i mean, just look at these bathing beauties! i’m probably going to remodel my bathroom at some point (since it’s über dinky!) and i’ll probably go a bit more neutral than these — but i certainly can admire their beauty. so sit back, relax and soak in these lovely bathrooms. ~ xo, victoria
- these two tiled bathrooms exceed all expectations, from made a mano.
- love these pink subway tiles half way up the walls and around the tub.
- the pale aqua tiles half way up look very soothing and pretty, too.
- why not go wall to wall with pale pink subway tile so can splish splash to your heart’s content?
- i quite like this more minimalist look of ‘encasing’ the tile backsplash behind the sink, from interior minimalistas.
- the brass accents and framed mirror look so elegant with these dark green hexegon tiles, designed by pohio adams architects.
Is it wrong to say I am over subway tiles? It’s like every bathroom is a Victorian public lavatory. Huge slabs of marble for me, please.
not wrong at all — you can love any bathroom look you like. ;) marble is beautiful, too!
Many of these remind me of the bathrooms and in my elementary school and junior high school. : /
cool schools! ;)
Love that pink tile! So retro!

I’m feeling like subway will never die. But am still okay with that. These were creative thought provoking~
They are all quite lovely in their own ways, but those soft green versions are my fave!!
Best Friday Finds in weeks, love it, just redoing my own small bathroom with a mixture of metro (subway) and huge carrera marble and I’m over the moon, love that from one view I’m in our lovely London Underground and from another, it’s an expanse of plush luxury, with touches of copper accessories, lots of gorgeous H&M towels and good old Bloomingville bits and pieces, I’m very happy, especially that my tiny bathroom has just grown in size too. I catch up on this blog every day and I’m never disappointed, thanks for the daily enjoyment from across the pond ;)
thank you so much, Jules! i so appreciate hearing that! :)

Made a Mano
Our Story, read please..
“After almost 40 years of study, research and creativity, Rosario Parrinello, entrepreneur careful of ceramics arts and guardian of Mediterranean cultures, created in 2001 the Made a Mano, a company that is distinct and specialized in working or processing of the clay and lava stone. The company was founded in Caltagirone – Sicily – a city with over 4000 years of history for the production of ceramics, it is located approximately 60 km from the Etna volcano, unique and exclusive source of all production of products made of lava stone. The exclusive collections Made a Mano are the result of a renowned tradition and artistic experience of its founder who has managed to combine the designs, colors of the Mediterranean with the best expressions of Oriental and African civilizations in order to project realizations of absolute minimalism typical of civilization of northern Europe, all to give great prominence to the materials used. The stone, natural or ceramized is the lava stone, the decorations are made freehand, the colors, applied with a brush, are made with ancient techniques, each tile or artifact that comes out of the Made a Mano labs, is a concentration of research and emotions. Made a Mano is the result of a cultural mix that finds its expression in the heat of the oldest matter. All production is based mainly on lava stone of Etna volcano, with which fails to achieve a variety of refined products such as tiles, countertops, table tops, sinks, bathtubs, furniture for both indoor and outdoor use. The Made a Mano in recent years has been distinguished by the continuous and ever more intense collaboration with great designer and leading globally famous for their productions. Always Made a Mano was able to transmit and maintain collaborative relationships both artistic and commercial, in different countries of the world, creating and realizing, more and more products of great artistic taste and respecting the traditions of the host country, to the point to have commercial references in different cities of the world.”
