vintage painting in ornate gold frame / sfgirlbybay

i’m a real sucker for vintage paintings, especially portraits — the odder the better, really because they just seem to tell more of a story. i also like the bit of kitsch they bring to a space — a sense of humor and a sense that these spaces are meant to be having a little good clean fun at the artists’ expense. happy friday, everyone! xo, victoria

  1. this whole bedroom has a very cheeky vibe — that gold headboard takes it to another level.
  2. love these two paintings from rachel ashwell’s london home.
  3. these paintings (just below) definitely all have a kitsch factor going on, via vtwonen; design comb; and kara rosenlund’s home via the design files.
  4. this simple portrait makes a lovely but very simple dresser come to life.
  5. a wonderful vignette from tim falle’s suitcase confessions.
  6. love paige morse’s quaint cottage portraits.

  1. Someone is selling that headboard on my local Cragislist (Austin, y’all) for like $150 and I just bought a new bed so I am DYING. It is so terrific!
