it’s Sunday and all i’m in the mood to do is curl up with a good book in a cozy nook and read the day away. i spoke on a design panel yesterday at create & cultivate, which was really inspiring, but today i’m all talked out. so since i’ve got work to catch up on, i thought it might as well be hunting down the coziest nooks and niches i could find. if i can’t take some time off, at least i can fantasize about it. just a peaceful corner to disappear from the world, or a window seat to unplug and simply watch it go by from a safe distance for a little while. if you’re lucky enough to have a spare closet or a window to repurpose into a cozy little hideaway, they’re the perfect places to get lost for a little while.

These cozy nooks are making me want to curl up with a good book and take a “sick day” from work! I need to create one of these small spaces in my next home for sure.
Ikea is looking more and more like Muji’s Japanese design: muted colours, natural fibres… all very wabi-sabi. I like it!
yep – totally! i love it too!
So revitalising to see the comeback of the “nook”, especially when small space living is the norm. It makes for some wonderful diy projects too! Currently harmonising kids living space with ours for a new blog post + a nook is an essential!
