we all love the classic little black dress, but what about the little black dresser? it’s a keeper, too — the trusty dresser you can dress up or dress down. i have not just one, but two black dressers and i love them. both are vintage, found for super cheap. i added a couple of coats of matte black paint to them for my bedroom, and they don’t match, but the rich black color they share kind of makes up for that. and, i really like placing collectibles and artwork on and against that black palette — it just seems to make everything look a little bit more stylish and sophisticated. give it a try on any old dresser you’ve got that needs a little facelift! it’s a super easy and dramatically different before and after.

I’ve been considering painting one of my dressers black. Love that first image especially! What paint did you use for yours, Victoria?
I used Benjamin Moore Onyx 2133 in a Satin Finish. :)
Thanks! :)
Thanks for the inspiration!….I have small three drawer black dresser in my livingroom. Love it as it stores my DVDs and Cd’s. I love decorating the top, creating new looks :)
Gosh, you just read my mind, I am about to paint the chest of drawers in my room black. I have a photo-shoot of the house happening soon and thought of making some changes around it. Love it!
A little pop of black in a room really takes it to the next level!

I knew there was something missing in my teeny tiny apartment…Those dressers really look beautiful!
After reading your post, I took an old despised dresser and painted it black. It is beautiful now and I love it. The black paint changed the entire look. Thanks!
hurrah! so happy to hear that, Noreen!
