i’ve never been to the hamptons before. have you? i’ve heard about the beachy getaway forever and a day (hello, carrie bradshaw!) so perhaps i’ll get there eventually. Nestled near the easternmost tip of New York’s Long Island, Amagansett was established by farmers and fishermen before being developed as a summer resort in the late nineteenth century. The coastal plain village retains its clusters of Shingle-style getaways and clapboard cottages, and The Line has recently taken up residence in one of those seaside cottages to create a seasonal store like no other. Located just blocks from the ocean in a white clapboard structure that dates to 1720, The Line – Amagansett is designed as the ultimate beach cottage: relaxed yet refined with a carefully considered selection of fashion, home, and beauty items. so, while we’re armchair traveling, let’s visit the line’s new summer home, shall we? at least we can still shop online from our cosy armchair without even getting sunburned.

  1. I love the Hamptons, but the quaint, happy, wholesome Hamptons, not the drunken weekend house party Hamptons. Cute cafés, restaurants, boutiques….plus the beach!
This boutique looks lovely (those pink chairs!!). While that sofa has beautiful lines, it doesn’t cry out to be sat on, much less lounged on.
