each and every one of these rooms have something in common. not just that as i write this i’ve got the monday blues and just feel like crawling under their covers — they’re all just so zen. not much color to speak of, and many of them have an almost rustic vibe — using shiplap or exposed beams and molding gives these bedrooms the feeling of a cozy, but modern cottage. i know joanna and chip gaines of HGTV’s fixer upper have put shiplap on the map, but i’m with them — i’ve always really liked the look and i’m thinking of using it in my bathroom remodel. perhaps tile 3/4 of the way up the wall and shiplap the rest. this post is a great resource if you want to know more about shiplap. in the meantime, i’m through here and gonna go take a nap!
