as i’ve mentioned, i’m in the midst of remodeling my bathroom and i’m going for a look i’m not exactly sure how to describe. i was inspired by a medley of styles and it turns out it’s just a little bit baroque. it’s also a lot of other things, though too — bohemian modern, moroccan-inspired, and just a little funky. it’s an eclectic mix to be sure — slate gray and white hex tiles, a brass & black vintage chandelier, and antique accessories. i’ve been keeping a pinboard to inspire me, and today i thought i’d share a peek inside my brain and where i’m finding my ideas. you’ll soon see what a mad mix it is!

  1. I love this. I love ornate. I’m tired of severe boxes for furniture and unadorned everything. In cultures everywhere, over centuries, people have always decorated their homes, their stuff. It’s human nature.
That said, a limited palette keeps things from feeling too busy or crazy.

  2. I found your blog at some point last year and have been reading your archives every day. I love, love, love it!! Even though I personally require less white :) I love your style and all the inspirational photos and just everything. I’ll look forward to seeing your new bathroom!

  3. I’m a big fan of baroque, too! My parents have had a huge mirror in their bathroom for years, and I’m keeping my eye out for a gilded antique for my own home too… I much, much prefer this style of interior to anything too minimalist or modern – glossy, box-like bathrooms just fall so flat for me! Whereas the images above feel like home. :)
