how about a pop of california sunshine this week? orange is often a very underrated and underused color and i wonder, why is that? i think it’s because it makes such a bold statement and for some that can be scary. but it doesn’t have to be a full-on commitment — use it sparingly and orange adds a lot of flavor to decor. it always looks great with green, as well as blue and add it to a very natural, neutral room and it looks pretty darn chic, too. and, as we head into fall, it may very well be the perfect shade for the seasonal transition. here’s what i mean. see now, orange ya glad to see me?

  1. I love these pops of orange, beautiful! Especially the Smeg, so unexpected but it’s fabulous! When my kids were growing up, I had the most ridiculous pair of orange shoes that I would wear every Halloween. They never failed to tell me how hideous they were, but years later, we all get a laugh over those orange shoes. Sadly, my ex-husband donated them without my knowing about it. Ha, guess that’s another reason why he’s my ex-husband :)

  2. I do love some orange. Too much and it all becomes tiring. We had one beautiful orange wall in our kitchen a few years ago, complete with gold stencil of the word eat – in Helvetica. I would like to have another go with orange – maybe next time?

  3. It is such a happy colour! Living in northern Europe it was always one of my favourites, reminding me of sunshine. I especially love the California 70s vibe.
