rattan daybed with mustard hued throw pillows. / sfgirlbybay

it rained a bit this morning in los angeles, which was a welcome change from our usual heat waves, and a sign that perhaps autumn really is in the air. i loved it even if it did mean getting my dog very soggy. this week i’m thinking about warming up the hues and textures around my house (mustard throw pillows anyone?), getting out my cozy throw blankets and hunkering down, preparing for the encroaching inevitable fall. have a lovely, restful weekend everyone. xo, victoria

  1. this room has the most beautiful jewel tones — love how the mustard colors warms up the rattan.
  2. this is one killer loft space. and i love the vintage farm table juxtaposed with the modern built-in shelving and beamed ceilings.
  3. i love old signs, and when i was in lisbon i photographed a lot like this one by Thibaut Derien. i’m heading to france again in november and think i’ll hunt some more down.
  4. bentwood chairs are beautiful (as are this tile floors)! and i love using them as bedside book stands — much more interesting looking than your average nightstand.
  5. i love the eclectic mix in this cozy living room — you’ve got mid-century modern (that george nelson bubble lamp!) paired with scandinavian and a victorian mantel. perfect.
  6. this is such a wonderfully styled fireplace mantel — again i love the mix of modern paired with vintage colelctibles.
  7. ledansla always posts the prettiest pictures on her blog, and this is definitely a warm and fuzzy spot to curl up with a good book.
  8. this is another gorgeous loft and what i love about this is the playful use of various textures to add intimacy and character to this very large living space.
