since having opened super marché i get asked a lot about where our inspiration comes from, and what kind of things we hunt for when we hit the french flea markets. first and foremost i want to try and bring back unique, one of a kind gems you can’t find just anywhere. we’re just hitting our stride, seeing what you like and what maybe we should have skipped, but as a new business, it’s a learning curve that’s important to me so do let me know what treasures you’d like me to hunt for. i’ve kept a private pinboard for flea market inspiration, and one of those things inspiring me was stoneware, which i collect myself — and this copenhagen collector’s pieces, in particular, and recently featured in architectural digest were really lovely. we’ve brought back stoneware beer bottles from bygone days, handmade bowls and pitchers — all kinds of ceramics inspired by this collection and other eclectic collections i’ve pinned. i thought i’d share a few of my favorite pieces from our current super marché vintage tabletop collection.

Love the simple honesty of pottery – dress it up, dress it down, take it out, enjoy it in…..like a simple person, all is possible.
